About Heidbergring
Heidbergring is an 852 m motor racing circuit in Geesthacht, just east of Hamburg, Germany — Germany's shortest permanent racing circuit. The Motorsportclub Geesthacht was founded in 1951 and ran motocross races at the site between 1956 and 1964 before laying out the permanent asphalt circuit, which held its inaugural race weekend on 15 May 1980 with Formula Ford and touring car races. The 9–13 m wide track features fast straights, technically demanding turns and three configurable layouts using a short connecting loop. A comprehensive renovation in 2006 added new asphalt and modernised driver facilities. The Heidbergring is widely used today for motorcycle trackdays, racing schools and classic-bike events.
