Art Motor

Art Motor is one of Germany's foundational hobby-racing trackday organizers, founded in 1995 by Wolf Töns and Dorle Knospe and operating under the motto "Racing with friends" for three decades. After both founders passed away (Wolf 2022, Dorle 2023), Geschäftsführer Michael Schulz — who also still runs the SWITCHevent trackday business — took over in 2022 alongside Luca Sammet. The Art Motor calendar built itself by inventing the German hobby-racing model: the first event was the Triumph Speed Triple-Cup at Zolder, followed by signature one-make series like the Aprilia RS 250-Cup and Trofeo Ducati. Classic motorcycles have always shared the calendar — today through the TT SuperclassiXs-Meisterschaft and Classic Endurance — and since 2015 Art Motor has run the Bridgestone100-Langstreckenmeisterschaft. Notably, Art Motor were pioneers of hobby endurance racing: in 2001 they ran the first endurance race for hobby riders at the Salzburgring — the very event where the Yamaha Austria Racing Team (today's Langstrecken-Weltmeister) was founded. The Sportbike Academy, also Art Motor's invention, was one of Germany's first dedicated training programmes for absolute trackday beginners. A cornerstone partnership: Art Motor has been at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben since the venue's first ground-breaking in 1997, hosting three major annual events there — Zünd in den Mai, Festival Italia and Biketoberfest — that have become Oschersleben tradition. Beyond Germany, the warm-weather Spanish/Portuguese calendar (Almería, Cartagena, Andalucía, Valencia, Aragón, Portimão) covers most of the European MotoGP circuit grid.
