About Autodromo Vallelunga

Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi is a 4.085 km, 15-turn motor racing circuit in Campagnano di Roma, around 32 km north of Rome. Originally laid out as a 1.773 km sand oval in 1951 (converted from a former horse-racing track), the venue was paved and redesigned in 1957 under the guidance of Italian racing legend Piero Taruffi to create a permanent asphalt course. The Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI) acquired the circuit in 1967 and added a new loop, and major expansion works completed in 2005 brought the circuit to its current 4.085 km length. In 2006 it was formally renamed Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi in honour of its original designer. Vallelunga hosts the Italian motorcycle CIV national championship, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and various GT and single-seater series.
